Getting married outside in the Sunshine State? Dad says always have a Plan B!
Couples from all over the world love to plan destination weddings on Anna Maria Island (and other gulf coast beach locales). What could be better than friends and family gathered under the warm sun, soft sand and a romantic sunset? That is the scene most of the time. However, Mother Nature occasionally throws her weight around.
Typically when it rains in Florida it lets loose like a fire hydrant (I love those by the way) for a brief spell, it clears off and then it is beautiful. Even though this is the case Dad always says that “hoping it doesn’t rain” is not a sufficient Plan B. The trick to pulling off a destination wedding is to find a venue that can pull off your dream wedding even if Mother Nature does not cooperate.
Dad and Mom give two paws up to the Sandbar on Anna Maria Island for doing just that. Despite the “normally beautiful weather patterns” a recent beachside ceremony was just not meant to be. While everyone was nervously checking the weather radar, Patti and her crew swung into action and readied the Pavilion for both the ceremony and reception. Everything was beautiful despite the rain, thanks to their hard work and experience with this kind of situation.
After the ceremony the rain stopped long enough to get some wonderful beach wedding photos. Because Dad has all sorts of fancy off camera-lighting ability, he and Mom made an otherwise dreary setting look amazing. Lindsay, Craig, their family and all their friends had so much fun and really had their “dancing shoes” on for the reception.
At the end of the day, because there was a Plan B in place the wedding and reception came off beautifully. Real Deal Wedding Photography got great wedding photos that I am sure the bride and groom will cherish forever…much longer than this rawhide bone I am chewing on.
